About Rhythm on the Vine
Music, Magic and Miracles
Music, magic and miracles for children. That’s what Rhythm on the Vine is all about. The Rhythm on the Vine music & wine festival was established in 2008 as a means to blend charitable giving with musical joy— to bring together the magic of celebrated artists and their philanthropy with the very children, doctors and hospitals they empower.
In its inaugural year, Rhythm on the Vine participants included Grammy-winning Jazz Legend Herbie Hancock, celebrated artists Sheila E. & the E. Family Band, contemporary music artist and award-winner Jim Brickman, among many others. The festival was an unprecedented success, raising more than $515,000 for Shriners Hospitals for Children, Los Angeles. Every penny went to fund the hospital’s care for children and families. The goal for 2009 is to exceed previous fundraising efforts.
In response from demand from artists and festival goers alike, Rhythm on the Vine will more than double in size this year. With at least 5 festivals in different genres scheduled May through December 2009, all festivals will feature award-winning, celebrity musicians— someone for everyone.
True to its auspicious beginnings, Rhythm on the Vine is climbing its way into the hearts of the children, families, doctors and the many Shriners Hospitals for Children supporters internationally who witness the magical, healing results of this philanthropic masterpiece.
